Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Though it is difficult to believe, the holiday season is already upon us. There seems to be no escaping the Christmas music and holiday displays in every store and business. I abso lutely love this holiday season! It is a time that we spend reflecting upon many blessings that we have in our lives. This is also a season of giving and teaching our children how to show compassion and generosity for others. With your generous support, we were able to collect over 1,900 pounds of canned foods and donate it to the North Highlands Christian Food Ministry.
Also, every December, in cooperation with the Heart of a Child Project we collect items for the needy children who live in third world countries. Each year we collect hundreds of soft toys, backpacks, jackets and blankets for children living in poverty. Thank you so much for your donations! In doing these wonderful community service projects, our students learn the importance of caring for others and it also helps them realize and appreciate all the things they themselves have.
I also want to thank all of you for entrusting us to educate your children in a safe, loving environment. All of us at Community Outreach Academy love our jobs and have made the choice to be part of this wonderful, family oriented school community. I want all of you to know how much we enjoy having the opportunity of working with your children and your family.
Soon it will be time for our long winter break. During this time off it is important that students take time to continue reading, writing, and practicing their math facts. Make learning fun by tying it into your daily routine so students understand the importance of education. I wish you and your families a very happy, healthy and peaceful holiday season! It’s a wonderful time of year to get together with friends and family to celebrate and be thankful for all the wonderful people in our lives.
