Katherine Mickela, Lead Teacher

Katherine Mickela 3rd Grade Lead Teacher COA Elementary

Hi, my name is Katherine Mickela and I currently teach third grade at COA. I received my BA and multiple subject teaching credentials from CSU Sacramento in 2008. I was in the blended Liberal Studies program which means you receive your BA and credential at the end of four and a half years. After receiving my degree at CSU Sacramento I was a substitute teacher in West Sacramento for kindergarten through eighth grade for two years and had my own tutoring business. From there I continued my journey to a private school in Folsom where I taught preschool, pre-kindergarten, first and third grade. I love being able to share my knowledge with my students and prepare them for their continuation throughout their academic career. When I am not teaching I love to spend time with my family, friends and my dog Chloe. I also love to travel, cook and paint or draw.

I graduated with my teaching credential and master’s degree in Education in 2016 with an emphasis in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction.
