Lolita McAuley, Lead Teacher

Lolita McAuleyHello, my name is Lolita McAuley, and I teach 1st grade here at COA. I have been teaching here since 2008. Prior to teaching at COA I taught elementary school in the Los Angeles area for about ten years. I attended college at California State University of Northridge (CSUN) where I received my BA in Liberal Studies. I received my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from California State of Sacramento (Sac State). I have five children, four daughters and one son. I really enjoy being with my family. I also enjoy movies and reading. When I was in high school I was very competitive in sports and still enjoy watching and participating in them as well.

Devann Burnam

My name is Devann Burnam, I enjoy teaching First Grade at COA very much, I find the commitment for learning and the support from the community very refreshing and inspiring. I am very dedicated to my classroom and students; I enjoy sharing my love of learning with them every day. I earned my Masters in Education and Teaching Credential from UCDavis and my Bachelor’s degree from Sacramento State University. I am a third generation teacher so being in a classroom is second nature to me as I continue the tradition of being an educator in my family. I have found that in my five years of teaching kindergarten, first, fifth and sixth grade I am happiest teaching first graders for their willingness to explore, work hard and their overall excitement to learn and share freely. When I am not in the classroom I like to travel, disc golf, swim and go geocaching.

I attended a performing and fine arts school and want to share those experiences with my students. On my free time, I enjoy going to road and cyclocross races with my two golden retrievers (Kobe and Bubba) to cheer on my boyfriend, Clint.

Jennifer Burch

Hello, I am Jennifer Burch. In 2010 I graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with my teaching credential. In the years following college I worked as an au pair in New Zealand and as a kindergarten teacher in Thailand. During the summer break I still can’t seem to stop myself from traveling! I love traveling because I always learn something new. This summer I went to Japan and could really relate to non-readers when I couldn’t read the Japanese letters all around me. Then as a teacher, I get to watch the amazing growth of students. 1st grade is a very rewarding grade to teach!

Carrie Androlowicz

Norman Campbell

Hello parents and students. My name is Norman Campbell but because I'm named after my father, I have always gone by the nickname "Sunny". I graduated from California State University, Sacramento with my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential in the Spring of 2009 and have been teaching here at Community Outreach Academy since 2012. I enjoy teaching 1st Grade because this is the year that students become readers. So much is unlocked in a person when they learn to read and it is exciting to watch these young people grow as learners. I have a beautiful wife who teaches violin from home, while taking care of our two sons and our dog. When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, participating in church activities, and playing the Great Highland Bagpipes. My current musical interests include playing Scottish Smallpipes with my wife on violin. I believe that communication between parents and teachers is vitally important to the education of our students. Please visit my website at: .
