Growing up in Carmel, CA, a small town on the central coast, I was blessed with a very happy childhood. My parents taught my brothers, sister and me the importance of education, along with Christian values. After attending Westmont College in Montecito, CA for 2,5 years, and then transferring to Whitworth College in Spokane, WA, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in religious studies. When I returned to Carmel and the Monterey Peninsula, I earned a teaching credential. At this point, I began teaching in The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District where I remained for 18 years. In 2000, I moved to the Sacramento area where I now reside with my wonderful husband, Kyle. I’m grateful for the many students I’ve had the privilege of teaching over the years. In retrospect, I’ve gained valuable life lessons and cultural awareness from my students whom I learn something new from each day. When I’m not teaching, some of my hobbies include: reading, swimming, travel, photography, walking my dogs, and kayaking with my husband.
