Данная страница не имеет русского перевода Our children like to "teach", especially their parents. Try making each activity fun and enjoyable. Play with your children and learn with them. Vocabulary games: Ask your child to name pictures in a book or picture dictionary, in the store and other places, translate for you. Play with them "who knows more words from a certain category" (for example, colors, animals, etc. Ask your children to teach you the words they learned at school. Make flash cards of the new words(write a word on one side, draw a picture/symbol on the other side of a card), put them in the box and practice whenever you have time. Practice spelling: For example, compete with your child by writing spelling words and then checking and comparing the results. Write the words with missing letters and have a child fill in missing letters. Cut out the letters of the alphabet from the paper and "make up a word/ phrase from them. Reading/Comprehension Skills: Ask your child to read you a story and translate it or retell in Russian, ask questions about the story. You can borrow different books from the school library or any public library. All the libraries have a very nice and cozy environment and supportive staff to help you and your children. Computer activities: If you have a computer at home and the Internet access you can let your child practice various skills on the computer. It is very useful resource because it makes it easier and more interesting for children to learn English as well as acquire computer skills. Remember that a computer is an essential tool of everyday life and is required to be used in schools and workplace. |
